  • I live in Melbourne Australia. It is too far away from home sometimes!

  • Major political shift in Japan as of yesterday. Sadly, the news guys don’t look to be much better than the old guys, but then the old guys were too complacent and were ruining the country. Now the latter will try hard to regain seats, while the new guys fight hard to keep them. Benefits all around, we hope.

  • I’ve been living in Essex, near/in the city of Colchester. I’m currently finishing the last 3000 words of a masters program in Computational Linguistics. I’ve also lived in York for a year during my undergrad.

  • We don’t have a self-intro. thread at the moment so I’ll introduce who and where I am at the moment in brief, since I’ll cover it more on my blog.

You know my name. I graduated CHSS in 1995 and then attended Queen’s university in the Con. Ed. program and graduated both ’99 and ’00. I then moved to Japan, where I’ve been living and working since. I married a Korean woman and we use Japanese as our common language. We also travel often to Korea to meet her family, eat wicked food, and just get away from it all (in Japan). That’s it in a nutshell. I am now working on year 10 here. During that time I returned back to Canada thrice, and only ONCE to Clinton in order to renew my driver’s license. It was summer and school was closed, but I did walk by and take in my old Alma Mater (highschool).

  • Elizabeth (may I call you Liz?), welcome! At some point in the future when we get a more forum like style to these groups I think we can create a member’s introduction page and give all the nitty gritty about where we are. There’s so much I want to do with this site!

Anyway, a pleasure to meet you. So you’re in the UK, eh? Whereabouts?
